Where I Always Eat in Phuket (Local Food You’ll Crave Later!)

When friends visit me, I always take them to these local places. No fancy restaurants just delicious, authentic Thai food made with love. Here are my top picks:
Go Benz Rice Porridge (โกเบนซ์ ข้าวต้มแห้ง)
- Location: 169/2 Tilok Uthit 2 Road, Phuket Town
- Open: 6:30 PM 2:00 AM (Closed Sundays)
This is where locals go after dark. Their dry rice porridge (ข้าวต้มแห้ง) with crispy pork is legendary. Expect a queue, but it moves fast and its totally worth it.
Mee Ton Poe (หมี่ต้นโพธิ์)
- Location: In front of the Clock Tower Circle, Phuket Town
- Open: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
Famous for Hokkien noodles with seafood in rich gravy. I usually order the crispy version (หมี่ฮ้อง) with a fresh coconut. Very old-school, very Phuket!
Mor Mu Dong
- Location: Soi Palai, near Phuket Zoo, Chalong
- Open: 10:30 AM 9:00 PM
- Tip: Call ahead for big groups its popular with locals.
Hidden in the mangroves, this seafood restaurant serves dishes in bamboo huts. Try the spicy fish curry and stir-fried sataw (stinky beans) with shrimp. If you love real southern Thai food, youll love this place.
